Mount Zero Olives : Lemon Pressed EVOO 330ml : Sunshine West, VIC, Australia.
Planted in the 1940's, The Mount Zero Olive Grove is one of oldest olive groves in Australia. It was purchased in 1993 by Jane and Neil Seymour with dreams of a simpler life and together with their son Richard they have built a brand over the past 20 years based on respect to the environment and the people of the region. The grove is Demeter certified Bio-dynamic and is self-sustaining in its farming practices - feeding the trees directly from the soil rather than chemical inputs and the energy supply is sourced from off-grid wind and solar generators. The Lemon Pressed EVOO is produced in the Agrumato style of cold pressing whole lemons and olives together. This combines the fruity olive character with the zest of lemon for delectable results. Savour this limited release oil with fish, grilled meats and vegetables.
Mount Zero Olives : Pink Lake Natural Salt Grinder 150g : Sunshine West, VIC, Australia.
Just 50km from the Mount Zero Olive grove in Western Victoria sits a vast salt lake with a striking pink hue. The lake is fed by natural salt aquifers and each summer dries out to reveal a bed of salmon coloured pink salt. Mount Zero and the Barengi Gadjin Land Council, representing the Wimmera's traditional land owners, hand harvest a small amount of salt from the lake each year in a respectful collaboration. The packaging artwork is by Aunty Nancy Harrison, an Wotjobaluk Elder. Her painting is titled ‘Bush Tukka’ showing two fish and a turtle and it relates to the huge importance of the Wimmera River and the wetland systems. Fed by natural aquifers, Pink Lake is an intrinsic part of this ecology.
Mount Zero Olives : Black Olive Tapenade 200 g : Sunshine West, VIC, Australia.
Also by Mount Zero comes this Black Olive Tapenade made from three classic ingredients - olives, anchovies and capers. However strong individually, these ingredients blend as one to provide a delicious olive condiment.
Maggie Beer : Murray River Salt Crackers 100g : Barossa Valley, SA, Australia.
As a self-taught cook, author and food producer, not to mention highly sought after speaker, celebrity cook, mentor, muse, wife, mother and grandmother, Maggie Beer hardly needs any introduction! When Maggie first arrived in the Barossa, there was little awareness of the importance of the region’s traditional food culture and, with her characteristic passion, she soon became a champion of Barossa Food. Using all-natural ingredients these delicious handmade, oven-baked crackers with an airy crunch will be a perfect match with your favourite cheese, dip (and beer). A light, delicate taste of Murray River Salt and the lusciousness of real butter.
Barefoot Farm : Maple Roasted Pecan 130g : Byron Bay Hinterland, NSW, Australia.
Barefoot Farm is the story of two chefs with a shared paddock to plate passion who became farmers. Ash and Matt planted their first Market Garden together while living in a worn-out bus near Nimbin in the Byron Bay hinterland. Following organic farming principles, they hand-cleared two acres of overgrown farmland to raise free range chickens and pigs and grow vegetables which they turned into dips, pickles, fermentations, sauces and spreads for sale at the local markets. Wanting to expand, they took over a pecan farm in the nearby pristine Eltham Valley. The pecan orchard is managed biologically, without pesticides, and with a focus on natural fertilisation and soil management. Of all the tree nuts, pecans have some of the highest content of antioxidants, including Vitamin E, which is good for a healthy immune system. Gluten free, vegan, paleo, natural, no nasties, high protein, low sodium. The Maple Roasted Pecans are a sweet and light snack.
