Inkwell releases single vineyard wines which express the "fingerprint of place" from its iconic Mclaren Vale vineyard winery. Run by husband and wife duo Dudley Brown and Irina Santiago-Brown, self confessed fanatics about their vines and wines and true advocates of sustainable farming practices. The Dark Star is a small special bottling of Fortified Zinfandel and the first commercially available bottling of their NV Solera Zin. A small amount was requested by Isa Bal, Head Sommelier at Heston Blumenthal’s Fat Duck to pair with the final dish of the final night of the Fat Duck’s Melbourne season. She called it on of Australia's "most unique wines". Apart from that one outing, this wine has never seen the light of day. Until now.
